The 53rd edition of Cosmoprof, held at the Bologna exhibition centre after the hiatus imposed by the pandemic, marks the return of a key event in the schedule coordinated by Cosmetica Italia.
As usual, the International Conference will take place on the opening day of the trade fair, Friday 29 April 2022 (10 am – Sala Italia, Volvo Congress Center).
Moving towards the Packaging of the Future for the Cosmetics Industry. Materials, Studies and Strategies to tackle the Challenges of Sustainability – this is the title of the event, which will welcome a number of international experts onto the stage with a view to exploring a key theme for the cosmetics industry.
The journalist Marialuisa Pezzali will act as moderator for the event, which, following the welcome speeches by the President of Cosmetica Italia, Renato Ancorotti, and Chairman of BolognaFiere, Gianpiero Calzolari, will host four speakers, who will address the issue of the future of cosmetics packaging from a number of different perspectives, in light of the European Union’s sustainability policies.
Marcello Accorsi (Director of the Federchimica European Union Central Directorate), Paola Fabbri (Professor of Materials Science and Technology – University of Bologna), Gerald Renner (Director of Technical Regulatory and International Affairs – Cosmetics Europe) and Simona Fontana (Head of the Conai Research Centre – National Packaging Consortium) will take the lead in this first part of the Conference.
Following this, the experts above will engage in a round table discussion which will also include the Vice President of Cosmetica Italia Matteo Locatelli, who is responsible for sustainability matters. The discussion, which will mark the end of the Conference, will take a closer look at the prospects and expectations of operators in the sector, providing ideas and encouraging reflection which will help in planning future activities.
“In setting out their commitment to sustainability, institutions, companies, organisations and individuals have to review their habits, lifestyles and personal beliefs. The cosmetics companies that I represent are no strangers to this commitment, which involves every single part of our supply chain” comments Renato Ancorotti, President of Cosmetica Italia. “Today, this International Conference gives us the drive and inspiration to look to the future and start again, with a view to seeking out and embracing stimuli that can help our sector to evolve, and increasing the awareness and expertise of companies with regard to the opportunities connected to the sustainable management of their activities, manufacturing processes and end products.”
