Bologna, 15th-19th March 2018 – Accademia del Profumo renews its historic collaboration with Cosmoprof by confirming its presence in Bologna with an original installation in the Service Centre at the heart of the event.
This is the setting where the finalists for the AWARD 2018 will be as they compete for the title of Best Women’s and Best Men’s fragrance of the year. The fragrances of the prestigious cosmetic brands Angelini Beauty, Bulgari Italia, Chanel, Collistar, Coty Italia, L’Oréal Italia Luxe, LVMH Italia, Puig Italia, Salvatore Ferragamo Parfums and Shiseido Group Italy will be described and can be sampled and voted on by visitors.
Voting will continue through a variety of channels until 14th April:
- the mini-site dedicated to the competition;
- the Facebook page of the Accademia del Profumo;
- participating perfume shops throughout Italy, with the “ring and win” flier.
All consumers who cast their vote via the various channels will also be entered in the instant win competition for a chance to win one of the 100 finalist fragrances.

Accademia del Profumo events will continue after the fair as well. On 21st March, the first day of spring, the second NATIONAL PERFUME DAY will be held with patronage from the Ministry of Economic Development. This day was established to create awareness among consumers as regards the cultural, artistic and scientific heritage contained within each bottle and to promote the professionals and companies that contribute to making each fragrance a unique, emotional experience.
There will be many events during the week of 19th – 25th March. The stories behind the fragrances will be told in 400 perfume shops throughout Italy in new, innovative ways; initiatives will be held in the museums dedicated to perfume in Milan and Venice, the Casa del Profumo in Val Vigezzo – birthplace of the inventor of Acqua di Colonia – the European Academy of Essences, selected Italian Botanical Gardens, Alinari National Museum of Photography in Florence and libraries in Northern Italy.
From 8th to 10th June in Spello (PG), a new stop will be added to the TRAVELLING OLFACTORY JOURNEY The Extraordinary Sense of Smell: perfume trilogy in three acts, during The Days of Roses exhibition, which drew more than 30,000 participants last year. The travelling exhibit will be on display in the historic Villa Fidelia, surrounded by a lovely baroque garden. In addition to the traditional Three Act exhibit (Emotion, Evolution, Awareness), tribute will be paid to the queen of flowers with themed meetings and dedicated training workshops.
