Cosmetica Italia celebrates its first 50 years in Bologna, and delves into the unique features of an industry worth over 10.5 billion euros

Having recently renewed their partnership, Cosmetica Italia and BolognaFiere, two leading bodies representing a thriving sector in the Italian and world economy, have once again come together at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2017, which marks both the 50th anniversary of the Association and the 50th edition of the event.

With in-depth analyses of market trends, conferences and events dedicated to the range of different business areas that constitute the beauty industry, the calendar of events offered by Cosmetica Italia will be wide and varied.

Cosmetics of the future: The digital economy and new languages, from ecology to technology is the title of the international conference, supported by the Cosmetica Italia technical-regulatory division. Once again, this conference will serve as one of the headline events at the opening day of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna (Friday 17 March at 9.30 am, Palazzo Congressi).

The renewed focus on the selective perfumery sector, marked by the presence of the Accademia del Profumo within Cosmoprime, and the contribution of the Accademia to the creation of The Perfume Factory, will also serve as the basis of a number of meetings organised by the Statistics Dept.

The Statistics Dept. will also be responsible for various other sessions designed to shed further light on key economical data from this sector, including The evolution of cosmetics: industry, market, consumer and user habits, from today to the years to come and Focus on the teenager target market, scheduled for Friday 17 March (2 pm, Cosmotalk). Elsewhere, the Herbalist Cosmetics Group will be holding a session entitled Evaluations, perceptions and behaviours of consumers of natural cosmetics. Presentation of the results of the Psycholinguistics survey (Saturday 18 March at 11 am, Cosmetica Italia Lounge).

Furthermore, as part of the celebration to mark the first 50 years of the association, Cosmetica Italia will also be running events outside the main trade fair. From Thursday 16 to Wednesday 22 March, the centrally-located, highly-prestigious Galleria Cavour will host the first stage of the interactive installation created by the Association in order to recount the various different facets of the industry to consumers.

“The strength of Italian companies, which has been further confirmed by the recent budget analysis, is once again in evidence in the continued growth of the cosmetics industry’s global turnover, totalling more than 10.5 billion euros, and is also supported by the positive growth of the domestic market (+0.5%) – commented Fabio Rossello, Chairman of Cosmetica Italia – After the figures for 2016 set a new record for the trade balance within the cosmetics industry, hitting an amazing 2.3 billion thanks to the 12% surge in exports, companies will be keeping a close eye on the trends that emerge in the years to come: in addition to the increasing significance of new technologies, including apps, products are set to evolve, with new textures and new functional claims that are tailored to respond to the changing needs of the consumer.”
