“The strength of Italian companies, which has been further confirmed by the recent budget analysis, is once again in evidence in the continued growth of the cosmetics industry’s global turnover, totalling more than 10.5 billion euros, and is also supported by the positive growth of the domestic market (+0.5%) – commented Fabio Rossello, Chairman of Cosmetica Italia – After the figures for 2016 set a new record for the trade balance within the cosmetics industry, hitting an amazing 2.3 billion thanks to the 12% surge in exports, companies will be keeping a close eye on the trends that emerge in the years to come: in addition to the increasing significance of new technologies, including apps, products are set to evolve, with new textures and new functional claims that are tailored to respond to the changing needs of the consumer.”
